I finally have a house and something exciting to post about!!! Let the renovations begin!
I've been looking for years, but haven't been able to find a house with "bones" that fit me. I've finally found it in Fountain Valley. I wasn't really searching here, but when it's right it all just falls into place.
I found this house online on a Thursday just after after school was out for the summer. I left my agent a message, and went into the temple. After finishing at the temple for the evening I found out there would be an open house that coming Saturday, July 2. I dragged a few family members out to it and put an offer that went in the next day. Escrow opened on July 11. Since this was a "short sale," I figured hoping to be in it by October seemed a reasonable expectation. A "short sale" usually takes a long time... but not this one. In a short sale, the bank holding the seller's loan has to agree to take the hit for the sellers short coming. In just a few short weeks, the bank agreed and gave the approval, but with some hoops to jump through. I had to be approved on my side within 2 weeks and they would give not extensions. Given the nature of short sales I was a little discouraged, but my credit union came through in about a weeks time and I was signing my life away on August 11. Most escrows take 30-45 days... My short sale recorded on the 17 putting me within the range of a regular sale. When it's right... It all falls into place.
